EROSION
CONTROL

The
High Desert varies greatly in elevation and many homes have slope
areas. Proper landscaping can keep slopes from sliding or eroding.
Plantings on sloped areas require a specialized approach to irrigation
and a selection of suitable plants.

Drip irrigation will be the most water efficient; it will keep weeds
down by putting water only at the roots of desired plants; it will
lessen erosion from run off caused by overhead spray systems; and
it can be easily placed and moved on difficult slope areas. Container
trees and shrubs planted on slopes should be watered using drip
emitters.
