Indoor Conservation Tips

  • Install an ultra-low-flush-toilet if your toilet uses more than 3.5 gallons per flush.
  • Check to see if you have a leak.
  • Don't use your toilet as an ashtray or wastebasket.
  • Turn off the water while brushing your teeth or shaving.
  • Take a bath in a partially filled tub instead of a taking a shower.
  • Capture cold tap water while you're waiting for it to get hot, and use the water on your indoor or outdoor plants.
  • Keep a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator instead of letting water run to get it cold.
  • When washing dishes by hand, use the least amount of detergent necessary to reduce the use of rinse water.
